Run Windows Mobile Apps from a Command Line

windows-mobile-runbox.jpgThe guys at jkOnTheRun made an interesting discovery: the Windows Mobile OS includes a Run box similar to the one found in Windows proper. To access it (on just about any touchscreen-driven Windows Mobile device), press and hold the center button on the D-pad, then tap the clock icon in the top-right corner of the screen. Then enter the name of the program you want to run -- or the folder or document you want to open. As someone who generally despises Windows Mobile's application launcher, I'm delighted by this find. It's a lot faster than hunting through the menu system in search of poorly organized program icons.
