Rockies Send McRae To Jays

Brian McRae, acquired by the Colorado Rockies just nine days ago, was dealt to the Toronto Blue Jays today for a player to be named.

The 31-year-old outfielder is hitting .224 this season with 14 doubles, one triple, nine homers and 37 RBIs.

The Mets traded him to the Rockies on July 31 along with left-hander Rigo Beltran and minor league outfielder Thomas Johnson in a deal that sent outfielder Darryl Hamilton and left-hander Chuck McElroy to New York.

McRae is in his 10th major league season and has a career average of .262 with 261 doubles, 57 triples, 100 homers and 521 RBIs.
