Report: Obama Won't Speak At Brandenberg Gate
According to the German newspaper, Berliner Zeitung, Barack Obama will not be speaking from the historic Brandenburg Gate during his upcoming visit to Berlin. Speculation about Obama's appearance at the gate, site of Ronald Reagan's "tear down that wall" speech as well as a long line of monumental addresses, caused a flap in Germany when Chancellor Angela Merkel voiced her opposition to it.
Instead, reports the Deutsche Welle blog, Obama's speech will be set up at the victory column, with the Brandenburg Gate visible in the background.
