Reducing Stress, Helping Your Heart
Stress contributes to heart disease. That mush seems clear from an abundance of research.
The studies show that reducing stress is an important goal in fighting heart disease, along with steps such as lowering cholesterol and high blood pressure, eating right, and exercising.
Experts say people who live in an urban environment or feel stressed out at work may feel stress goes with the territory, and may feel powerless to do anything about it.
But, according to Dr. Richard Stein, director of preventive cardiology at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, there are things you can do to lower the amount of stress in your life.
On The Early Show Friday, Stein talked about the link between stress and heart disease, and suggested ways you can be and feel less stressed.
