Poll: When Does a Minority Hiring Initiative Go Too Far
THE SCENARIO: About a year ago, my company hired an African-American vice-president in charge of recruitment, with the goal of increasing minority representation in the company. Since then, minorities have accounted for over 40 percent of new hires, though they represent less than 10 percent of applicants, and some employees are upset that some better qualified candidates have been overlooked in the push for minority advancement.[poll id=6]
