Poll: Is Cold Calling Really Worth It?

The previous three posts ("7 Steps to a Perfect Cold Call", "Videos: Top 10 Cold Call Mistakes", and "How to Overcome 4 Common Objections") address the mainstream approach to cold calling.

However, there are some experts who don't think cold calling is worth the effort. To provide this perspective, here's world's most irritating (IMHO) sales trainer Frank Rumbauskas. Check it out:

Now, I'm no fan of Frank. In fact, I think he's, well..., world's most irritating sales trainer (see "Don't Ever Cold Call Again"). Even so, I must say that he may have a point here.

There is something a bit odd and subservient about cold-calling. I think it can be difficult to come on strong as an equal after you've sorta begged for an appointment.

However, this is one of those occasions where YOU GUYS are the REAL experts. So here's my question for you:
