WOODLAND, Wash. -- Police say two people, including a man wanted for murder, were arrested after a brief pursuit, reports CBS affiliate KOIN.

Matthew Reyes and Kareesa Dean were taken into custody without incident Sunday morning, the Sheriff's Office said in a release. Three law enforcement agencies -- the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office, the Washington State Patrol and Woodland Police -- were all involved, according to the station.

There had reportedly been two separate 911 calls. The first calls sent deputies to a home that had been broken into and the homeowners had been assaulted, according to KOIN. The injuries were reportedly not life-threatening.

A second call reported that a couple had been carjacked at gunpoint. Investigators later found that vehicle abandoned, but a red Nissan was reportedly missing, according to the station.

The Nissan was later spotted, and after a short pursuit, a Cowlitz deputy reportedly stopped the car.

The 36-year-old Reyes was then taken into custody and was charged in the murder of 57-year-old Rick Aston, whose throat was found cut at a local motel early this month, according to KOIN. Investigators say that a witness told them that the killing may have been related to noise complaint.

Both he and 31-year-old Dean will reportedly face charges of 1st-degree robbery and carjacking.
