Partying Hearty After The Oscars
Academy Awards Sunday is the biggest holiday in Hollywood. How does everybody celebrate? They party all over time, all over town, reports CBS News Early Show Popular Culture Contributor Laurie Hibberd.
The first stop is the most convenient, right next door to the Shrine Auditorium, the Governor's Ball. On Oscar Night everybody likes to hang with the winners. Thanks to American Beauty, the party to be at was the Dreamworks SKG party.
"We are going to celebrate with our extraordinary colleagues and then we're going to go on and, you know, party till we drop, I guess," said Best Actor Kevin Spacey.
"How do I celebrate?" asked director and Dreamworks co-owner Steven Spielberg. "By getting her home before midnight because she has school tomorrow," referring to his daughter Sasha, who was accompanying him.

"Jack Nicholson said hello to me and I went very weak at the knees," admitted Dame Judi Dench.
But without a doubt the hottest ticket in town was the Vanity Fair party. Everybody ends up there.
"It is the one [time] out of the year where this job is as glamorous as it seems to be," said actress Christina Ricci.
What's so special about this party?
"You know, it's a real crush," actress Fran Drescher told Hibberd. "All the "A" list is there."
"I just went to the Governor's Ball, which sounds like a strange foreplay thing, but now I'm going to try to get in the door here," said Robin Williams, who sang the Oscar-nominated Blame Canada during the show.
Is this the best part, coming to the parties?
"Yeah, I guess it's the only part for me, really," answered singer Sheryl Crow.
"It's great to be here. Usually for television and things like that, this time it's just all film," added actress Lucy Liu. "It's awesome."
The Oscars is one of those nights where even if you don't walk away with the gold, it can still be memorable.
"Michael Caine gave a very dramatic speech to the other four nominees" for Best Supporting Actor, said Green Mile's Michael Clarke Duncan. "It was very thoughtful that he said that about all of us, and it really made me feel good."
"I'm not disappointed," said another Supporting Actor nominee, Tom Cruise. "I had a great time. It was fun. You know, the only thing I'm disappointed about is I want to go in and get a beer and I'm out here."
But some people just wanted to get home.
"I don't really want to be here," admitted Winona Ryder, rolling her eyes.
"We're ready for bed," said Best Actress Hillary Swank, with her husband Chad Lowe. "We're such the married couple."
Another stay-at-home wannabe was singer Gloria Estefan.
"I'm kind of sore. My feet are killing me," she told CBS News. "At this point I think everybody is just having a good time but ready to go to bed."
Telecast host Billy Crystal admitted it had been a long night, but defended the length of the telecast.
"It wasn't long to people in the house," he told CBS News. "It was a lovely show."
"All I heard all night long," reports Hibberd, "was how happy people were to have Billy Crystal back driving the ship. Everyone was saying, why would they ever give it to anybody else?"
