Freedom Communications is running a series of bold promos on its corporate front page but nothing about the publisher’s biggest news: its Chapter 11 filing in federal bankruptcy court in Delaware today. The Irvine, Calif.-based private company, which owns the Orange County Register and 32 other dailies, along with 70 other titles and eight TV stations, says it reached agreement with a majority of lenders for a pre-packaged plan that will allow it to function as usual.
