Oprah Winfrey to air final show on May 25
(CBS/AP) The final original episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" now has an official date.
Winfrey's Harpo Productions confirmed Friday that it will air the final episode of her top-rated talk show on May 25.
Back in November 2009, Winfrey announced that she would end the show after 25 years of programming.
"I love this show, this show has been my life, and I love it enough to know when it's time to say goodbye," she said live on the show at the time. "Twenty-five years feels right in my bones and it feels right in my spirit."
"The Oprah Winfrey Show" has been in reruns for the last few weeks. But Winfrey tweeted Thursday that she was "hard at work planning the final shows" and new episodes would begin April 7.
