#NSACalledToTellMe Twitter trend makes light of NSA data mining
A trending hashtag on Twitter is making light of thereports that the U.S. government has been secretly mining data from nine Internet companies for years.
Washington Post reported on Thursday that the NSA and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) have a direct line to the central servers of Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook, Paltalk, AOL, Skype, YouTube and Apple. All of the companies released statementsdenying that the government had access to its servers.

As the news was breaking on Friday, clever Twitter users began making jokes about the NSA watching their every move with comments like, "#NSACalledToTellMe to have the mole on my back checked."
