New Services From Juno

Juno branches out. Juno, the company that provides free email access to millions ...is becoming a full fledged Internet service provider. Juno President Charles Ardai....

"We started in April of 1996 by offering email to anyone who wanted to use their computer for electronic mail, completely free. So you did not have to have Internet access to use Juno and you could use it without paying a monthly fee to Juno or anyone else. What we found was that we signed up more than five and a half million subscribers, many of whom had no other access to the Internet when they started and over the course of their first three months, or six months or a year, they many times came back to ask us for additional features."

. So now Juno is offering new paid services... Juno Gold, which allows email file attachments for less than three dollars a month and Juno Web...

"Juno Web adds not only the file attachment functionality, but also the ability to access the world wide web and go to any of the millions of sites there. When you use Juno Web, you come in through a portal site that Juno owns called home.juno.com. And we're partnering with Lycos, one of the largest sites on the web to fill that page with all the tools and directories and services and content that a new user of the web will need to understand and navigate."

Juno Web is priced at the standard 19.95 a month for unlimited access. The advantage is, if you already have a Juno email address you can keep it with the new Internet service.
