Munich 'All-Access' Itinerary

With their "All-Access" passes in hand, Dave Price and David Curtis of Shelby Township, Mich., got the chance to do things most tourists don't get to while visiting Munich, Germany.

Arrangements for the trip were made with the help of the German National Tourist Office.

Friday, Sept 15:

  • Dave Price and and David Curtis leave Chicago on a 4:35 p.m. Lufthansa Airlines flight to Munich, Germany.

    Saturday, Sept. 16:

  • The Daves land at Munich Airport International at 8:15 a.m.
  • The Daves check in at the Bayerischer Hof. The hotel was recently awarded the "Hotel des Jahres 2006" prize for Germany, deeming it the finest hotel in the country.
  • At 10:45 a.m, it's off to the grand entry parade of the Oktoberfest landlords and breweries and a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the festival.
  • The day includes a stop at the famous beer tent Schottenhammel for a taste of "Spatenbräu" beer.

    Sunday, Sept. 17:

  • Breakfast at 7:45 a.m. at the Bayerische Hof's rooftop Dachgarten restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal and a beautiful view of the city before heading off to the airport.
