Military Training Camp Handbook Distributed On The Forums
A document that explains how to organize a five-day military training for would-be jihadis has been distributed on several jihadi forums today. The author of the guide is Aboul Khansaa, also known as Osama Kassir. Kassir outlined in a 2600-word document the different steps to follow in order to set up a clandestine 5-day training camp. He first explained what was needed to get the camp ready. He was very specific about everything; potential locations, the number of attendees, the weapons to be used, the number of bullets, food, etc. He then went into group structures, explaining how the men in the camp should be organized, before giving a detailed hourly schedule for what needs to be done on each day of the training.
Kassir is a Lebanese-born Swedish militant and a central figure in jihadi Internet activities. He is the founder of the Islamic Media Centre. Kassir was arrested in Prague, Czech Republic, while on his way to Beirut in 2005, on a warrant filed by the United States. He was charged with conspiring to support terrorism by travelling from London to Bly, Oregon, in 1999 to help set up a jihad training camp. He was extradited from Prague to the United States last September where he will face trial.
