Michael Flatley Hits Vegas Jackpot
Just months after "Lord of the Dance" closed at the New York-New York hotel-casino, Michael Flatley is bringing his production back to another Las Vegas casino.
The 44-year-old Irish step dance director, who also created "Riverdance," has signed a five-year, $250 million contract with the owners of the 1,100-seat Showroom at the Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip. The new production opens Friday. Tickets are $75.
"Lord of the Dance" ended a four-year run at New York-New York in July.
Flatley's show will compete with "Spirit of the Dance," another Irish step dance show playing through March at the 500-seat Theater Ballroom at the Golden Nugget.
