Meebo for BlackBerry: The Ultimate Instant-Messaging App?
I'm a Meebo fan from way back. For my money, it's the only instant-messaging tool you could ever need. It runs in your browser (meaning no clunky client software to install) and supports every IM platform known to man, from AIM to ICQ to Yahoo.
Now BlackBerry users can get in on the IM goodness: Meebo for BlackBerry offers the same cross-platform compatibility as its Web-based counterpart. And while you do need to install it (it's an app, after all), you don't have to pay for it.
Arguably Meebo's best feature is chat history, a full set of logs from every chat with every person. I can't tell you how many times I've used this to refresh my memory of a conversation or look up a piece of information that was disseminated via IM.
The app stays in sync with Meebo in your browser, meaning you can easily take a chat "to go" if you're running out of the office.
It's compatible with all BlackBerry models that have either a trackball or touchscreen. And did I mention Meebo for BlackBerry is free?
