Listen to Slacker Radio on Your iPhone

slacker-for-iphone.jpgLike music? Own an iPhone (or iPod Touch)? Today is your lucky day. Slacker Radio is now available for iPhone, putting custom stations and millions of songs in the palm of your hand.

If this sounds a bit familiar, it's because Slacker -- which began life as a Web-based streaming radio service -- just released a Slacker app for BlackBerry.

Like that version, the iPhone app offers unlimited free music, with only the occasional commercial interruption (or not if you subscribe to Slacker Radio Plus for $3.99 monthly). You can listen to your personalized stations and over 100 pre-programmed genre stations (think: XM Radio).

Unlike the BlackBerry version, Slacker for iPhone can't play music in the background while you do other stuff (blame the OS, not the app), and it can't cache music for offline listening (blame the lack of memory expansion). But it's free, and it's absolutely fantastic. You can read a full review of Slacker Radio for iPhone over at MacLife.
