Is Your Mouse Mousey? Try a Touchpad

Touchpads let you control the cursor on your screen by moving your finger and tapping it to click. Cirque invented GlidePoint Technology and says the company's Carrie Royce has improved it over time...

"The new technology is much more responsive. It's over twice as responsive."

The brand new Cruise Cat adds some new features, like fingertip gesturing...

"It memorizes my own alphabet. So, if I do maximize window, it's going to remember the way I draw my m. Minimize window, I can just draw a line. It can do any symbol that I am used to, that I am comfortable with, and it's going to remember where my strokes end, where my strokes begin."

Think of it as macros or shortcuts. There are also buttons along the side of the Cruise Cat that you can use to launch your web browser or other programs. It sells for under a hundred dollars. You can find other models for under thirty. Using a touchpad does take some getting used to, but one of its big advantages is durability.

"These things can get gunked up and there's nothing that's going to clog on them."
