Is Society Prejudiced Against Sales Pros?

On Monday's post "Why Do People Hate Sales Pros", I posted a video of a computer game where part of the "fun" is killing a sales professional. A comment to that post pointed out that people who post such videos are a small part of the population. While that's true, I think that negative portrayals of sales reps are extremely common in popular culture. For every movie like "Pursuit of Happyness," Hollywood makes a dozen "Tin Men".

IMHO, this helps foster a widespread prejudice against sales professionals. Not everyone feels that way, though.

The sales coaching firm Sliverstone Training recently released the following short video that uses clips from Hollywood movies to make some points about the sales profession. While I think the video is clever, I can't say that the images that were used were particularly positive. Here it is:

Notice that the sales pros are either jerks or fools? Frankly, I'm getting sick of the stereotypes.
