· Democratic candidate Bill Mauk served as the Idaho Democrat Party Chairman for four (4) years.
· Mauk is a prominent trial lawyer in Idaho. He is a past president of the Idaho Trial Lawyers and served as a judge in the Shoshone-Bannock Tribal Court.
· The Mauk family has been in Idaho for generations. Bill Mauk's grandparents settled in Pocatello, Idaho, in 1913. His father was a dentist and worked in the community for over forty years.
· In high school, Mauk demonstrated his leadership. He was elected student body president and won the Idaho Elk's Youth Leadership Award. He was later elected student body president at USC.
· Outside of the political arena, Mauk is active in his community. He is a Boy Scout Cub Master, raises money for the YMCA and spends time on the board for the Idaho Theater for Youth.
· Mauk is an active sportsman. He is an avid skiier, hunter, and fly fisherman.
