Husband Charged with Murdering Missing Wife

Orange County authorities say a man arrested on suspicion of killing his wife has made incriminating statements and they hope to find her body soon.

Sixty-one-year-old Richard Forsberg was arrested Monday night at a hospital in the Palm Springs area and booked on suspicion of murder.

At a news conference Tuesday, sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino says a tip led investigators to Forsberg, who vanished last week after telling police he'd last seen his missing wife, Marcia Forsberg, in March.

Amormino says authorities now believe that Forsberg killed his wife of 39 years at their Rancho Santa Margarita home, then rented a vehicle and took the body someplace else.

There's no word yet on a motive for the killing.

Richard, a computer manager and Marcia, a cancer survivor, were high school sweethearts -- married 40 years next month. Both are 61.
