Giuliani, McCain Release Third Quarter Fundraising Numbers

Rudy Giuliani has released his third quarter fundraising numbers, and his $11 million take is tops in the Republican field (assuming one doesn't count Mitt Romney's donations to himself).

The final tally among Republican frontrunners is as follows: Giuliani raised $11 million, Romney $10 million (from outside donors), Fred Thompson $9.3 million,* and John McCain, who also just released his third quarter numbers, $6 million. The top three Democrats faired better than their GOP rivals: Hillary Rodham Clinton raised $22 million for her primary campaign in the quarter, Barack Obama $19 million, and John Edwards, who will seek public financing for his campaign, $7 million.

*NOTE: Thompson revised his third quarter numbers this afternoon.
