'Get Tied To The Cause'

For the second year in a row, The Early Show is observing Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the Pink For A Week series.

All this week, items that help raise money for breast cancer charities are featured. Monday's is the Ford/Lilly Pulitzer Breast Cancer Awareness Scarf.

For the third year in a row, Lilly Pulitzer has been commissioned by Ford to create this one-of-a-kind silk scarf for Ford's annual "Tied to the Cause" Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. The Early Show gave 150 of them away on the plaza.

"There's a variety of ways you can wear them," said co-anchor Rene Syler, who had her own breast cancer scare. "You don't have to be very scarf savvy. You can tie it on your purse, if you don't know how to tie it on your head or around your neck."

Ford has been involved with this cause for 11 years. Last year, almost $2.5 million was raised with the sale of the scarves alone.

The net proceeds — 85 percent of each sale — go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The 12-inch by 56-inch scarf, which is 100 percent silk, costs $35. To purchase it, click here or call 1-877-SGK-SHOP (1-877-745-7467).

There are more giveaways on the plaza to help support breast cancer awareness. If you are in New York City, stop by.
