(CBS) Award-winning actor Gary Busey has reportedly been fired from the horror movie "Mansion of Blood" because of complaints from fellow cast members about inappropriate behavior.

The 66-year-old actor, no stranger to controversy, was fired after numerous complaints were made about his behavior on-set and one a woman filed a complaint about his inappropriate comments, reports the website TMZ.

Busey isn't saying anything - something of a novelty - but his rep says he wasn't fired.

"The situation was plagued by contractual issues and misunderstandings from the outset," the rep said in a statement, "Gary considers this episode concluded and has no further comment on the matter."

The Mike Donahue-directed horror movie, due for release later this year, also stars David Hasselhoff's ex-wife, Pamela Bach. It is about guests who die or disappear at a party in a millionaire's newly renovated mansion.

Busey, nominated for an Oscar for playing the title role in 1978's "The Buddy Holly Story," is fresh off a stint on "The Celebrity Apprentice," where his inappropriate behavior also bothered his teammates. In one notable episode, an argument with Busey led to a profanity-laden meltdown by the singer Meat Loaf.

Busey nearly died of head injuries he suffered in a 1988 motorcycle accident.
