Fuze Meeting for iPad: Another Nail in Your Laptop's Coffin

Can an iPad really take the place of a laptop? The debate rages on, but here's another big point in favor of Apple's tablet: Fuze Meeting for iPad lets you host and attend online meetings.

The Web-based version of Fuze Meeting works like countless other services, allowing you to share and view presentations, participate in conference calls, access other desktops, record meetings, and so on. The app extends all that to your iPad. Take a look:

Slick, right? I particularly like the audio option that allows you to call in from your iPad via a voice-over-IP connection.

Fuze Meeting for iPad is free. Subscriptions start at $29 per month, though you can also buy a 24-hour block (with unlimited meetings) for $9.99. The number of attendees allowed per meeting depends on the plan you choose (the 24-hour block, for example, allows 15, while the $29/month plan gives you 25).

Sounds good to me. I think if my organization was already using Fuze Meeting, I'd be downright giddy at the prospect of "dialing in" from my iPad. Apps are also available for Android, BlackBerry, and iPhone, but let's face it: for an online meeting, you want a big screen. The iPad's is just big enough. [via iPad Atlas]
