Former Rams Lineman Cowan Is Dead
Charlie Cowan, an offensive lineman for the Los Angeles Rams for 15 years, has died of complications from kidney failure. He was 59.
Cowan, who died Wednesday, played for the Rams from 1961-75. He played in four Pro Bowl games -- from 1967-70.
Cowan was a fourth-round draft choice in 1961 from New Mexico Highlands, where he played several positions. He was a fixture at left tackle for the Rams.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at Sky Rose Chapel in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.
Cowan is survived by his wife, Irene, and four daughters -- Nathalie Ann, Cecilia Ann, Allyson Ruth and Francine.
