First look: Johnny Depp as a vampire in "Dark Shadows"
(CBS) Johnny Depp is adding the undead to his list of character roles.
Warner Bros. has released a new picture of the actor portraying a vampire in Tim Burton's adaptation of "Dark Shadows." (See another one of him and co-star Michelle Pfeiffer below.)
The film is based on the gothic soap opera of the same name, which ran from 1966-1971.
Depp plays Barnabas Collins, a vampire who was buried alive in the 1700s and freed in the 20th century. The film follows his run-ins with various monsters, werewolves, witches and ghosts.
The film also stars Eva Green, Helena Bonham Carter, Jonny Lee Miller and Chloe Moretz. It's set to be released in theaters on May 11.
