Evangeline Lilly joins cast of "The Hobbit"
(CBS) Peter Jackson made two big casting announcements on his Facebook page over the weekend.
First, and happily for "Lost" fans, Evangeline Lilly has joined the cast as a Woodland elf called Tauriel. Jackson writes that her name means "daughter of Mirkwood" and that there's "no romantic connection to Legolas."
Second, Barry Humphries has been cast as the Goblin King. Jackson writes Humphries will play the role in "much the way Andy Serkis created Gollum." In other words: motion capture.
Lilly will next be seen onscreen opposite Hugh Jackman in the upcoming "Real Steel," due out in October.
