Police tell 80-year-old man: Stop shooting gun at icicles

ST. CHARLES TWP., Ill. -  In this winter of discontent for many people in the Midwest, an 80-year-old man was shooting icicles hanging from his second-floor roof with a .22  caliber revolver, according to authorities in west suburban Chicago.

CBS Chicago reports that Kane County Sheriff’s officers went to investigate the incident, which was called in Friday called in by a neighbor of the man in St. Charles Township.

According to the station, police told the stop shooting at icicles, but he was not cited, nor charged with any crime.

A different kind of cold case to be sure.
