Earnings: YHOO CEO Yang: 'Very Optimistic About Yahoo's Future'

This story was written by Staci D. Kramer.

On the earnings call: Yes, it's a negative time and yes, Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) is laying off people but CEO Jerry Yang would like to make sure all the positive things don't get lost in the shuffle. He's not exactly channeling Pollyanna but his prepared remarksand those of Sue Deckertried for a highlight approach. Also, remember that in this environment, layoffs are only a negative to those involved, but a positive for analysts and investors. More to come.
