Development hell redux: New delay for "Duke Nukem Forever"
Ready, set...delayed - again.
Give it up for Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford, whose tongue-in-cheek video spoofs the disappointing news that the long-awaited "Duke Nukem Forever" game is, well, still taking forever to finish. Earlier this year, word arrived that the game would debut May 3. The latest postponement pushes the date back to June 14 in North America (and June 10 internationally.)
Duke fans have been waiting for a sequel to the original Duke Nukem 3D for the last 14 years. We all know that software can be tricky but this extended development cycle qualifies for its own special mention in the annals of computerdom.
"Duke Never Comes Early" reads 2K's press release. That rates prome consideration as the mother of all understatements.
