DCCC Attacks GOP Over Rising Price Of Gas
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee e-mailed a Web video to its supporters last night, blasting congressional Republicans for the rising cost of gas.
The pitch, titled “The Halliburton Presidency,” is part of a DCCC campaign to raise $120,000 by Nov. 30 in order to target "a dozen" House Republicans that they claim have connections to “Big Oil.”
The 60-second video, set to the tune of the hit ‘70s song “Thank You for Being a Friend,” starts off by juxtaposing the doubling of gas prices since 2001 with the charge that “Republicans passed Bush’s energy bill, giving billions of tax dollars to Big Oil and Gas.”
It closes with a photo montage of gas station signs, President Bush meeting with energy executives and Saudi King Abdullah, and a request that viewers visit the DCCC site and send Republicans an ironic thank-you note.
