Current Military Operations Lead to Growth at Tooele Army Depot

The Tooele Army Depot in Utah has seen steady growth over the last several years as its role in supporting current U.S. military operations increases. The Tooele Transcript Bulletin reports that the depot has expanded its ability to store ammunition as well as performing other roles related to production and testing of weapons. The majority of the ammunition that moves through the depot support training exercises by the Army. It also provides a facility where the Safety Management Services company will conduct testing and research on ammunition stability and safety. Tooele Army Depot is also manufacturing production equipment for other Army facilities. While the U.S. continues its operations in Iraq and Afghanistan there will still be demand for this facility. If there is a significant decline in these operations the Depot may see cut backs and less requirements for its services.
