Coyotes Hit By Injury Bug
Phoenix Coyotes right wing Dallas Drake continues to be plagued by the injury bug and will be lost for another two or three weeks with a separated shoulder.
Drake, who missed nine games with a broken ankle earlier this season, injured his shoulder Friday in a 4-4 tie with the New York Islanders.
In addition, defenseman Deron Quint will be out a week to 10 days with a similar injury. He was hurt in Sunday's 5-1 victory at Nashville.
Drake, two days shy of his 30th birthday, is a 6-foot, 185-pounder who plays on the Coyotes' top line with Jeremy Roenick and Keith Tkachuk. A strong two-way player, he has eight goals and 13 assists with a plus-14 rating in 37 games. Three of his goals have been game-winners.
Last season, Drake had 11 goals and a career-high 29 assists for a personal-best 40 points in 60 games.
Quint, 22, has a goal and seven assists in 34 games this season. The 6-2, 201-pounder is minus-3, one of only seven Phoenix players with a negative rating.
The Coyotes recalled rugged left wing Louie DeBrusk, 27, from Long Beach of the International Hockey League. The 6-2, 235-pounder has played three games for Phoenix this season.
