Cops: 911 operator arrested, tipped off suspect
WILMINGTON, Del. - A 911 operator in Wilmington, Del. was arrested after she allegedly tipped off a suspect that police had been called, reports CBS Philly.
Police say Alleshia Kennedy purposely did not put information from a 911 call reporting shots fired into the dispatch system on Jan. 9.
She then allegedly communicated with a suspect and informed him authorities has been called.
Detectives took Kennedy into custody on January 27. She was arraigned and released after posting $6,000 bail, reports CBS Philly.
Kennedy is currently restricted from Wilmington Police Headquarters by court order and her status as an employee will be determined by an internal review process, according to the station.
