Clumsy Typists: Assess and Improve Your Typing Speed

I'm the first to admit that I'm something of a clumsy typist. I use about four fingers -- maybe five -- and when I have to type into a PC that's being projected during a meeting, performance anxiety causes my already tenuous skills to plummet.

Perhaps this newest find will help me improve this essential business skill. Keyhero.com is a flash-based typing test that tells you your speed and accuracy as you complete short typing assignments.

Unlike some typing sites, Keyhero keeps things simple. Assignments are all fairly short -- about 50 words or so -- and your performance is updated in real time as you type. If you make an error, there's a beep and your text turns red until you correct the mistake.

When you're done, you can analyze your errors and assess your performance on some graphs. Will this help me improve my typing? Rick no doubt hopes so.

Of course, if you really do want to work on your typing skills, you can also try your hand at some of the tutorials over at TypingWeb as well. [via Download Squad]
