CBSNews.com Wins 2006 EPpy Award

CBSNews.com has won the 2006 EPpy award for the "Best Overall Network TV/Cable-Affiliated Internet Service" category. The EPpy Awards competition, sponsored by Editor & Publisher and MediaWeek magazines, honors excellence in online work by media companies.

Besides CBSNews.com, the other finalists for this category were CBC.ca and FoodNetwork.com

WashingtonPost.com, the Internet arm of The Washington Post, won in the "Best Overall Newspaper-Affiliated Internet Service" category for sites with more than 1 million monthly visitors.

Formerly a competition for the interactive newspaper industry only, the 2006 EPpy Awards acknowledges that all media sites compete for users and revenues in the maturing Internet business. Awards were presented in 32 categories for excellence in online media, both for design and for content. The EPpy Awards were presented at the Interactive Media Conference and Trade Show in Las Vegas.
