Mark Lippman, who represented Anthony's parents George and Cindy Anthony, told HLN on Sunday that he refused the request from Anthony's attorney Jose Baez.
"Last night we got a call from Mr. Baez...he had wanted to use my clients as decoys for the media and I, of course, did not agree with that and neither did my clients," said Lippman. "One, it was risky at best, and two, just in my opinion, something that would not be beneficial to anybody."
Casey Anthony is now safe at an undisclosed location, Lippmann said he heard from Baez. Anthony was reportedly taken to a small airport following her release.
Details of the Interview were reported by The Examiner.
Lippmann told HLN that there has been no further contact between Anthony and her parents. Though Cindy Anthony did want to contact her daughter, Baez blocked it, according to Lippmann.
Anthony, 25, was released from jail at 12:14 a.m. Sunday, 12 days after she was acquitted of murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.
Anthony had remained in jail to finish a four-year sentence for lying to investigators. With credit for the nearly three years she'd spent in jail since August 2008 and good behavior, she had only days remaining after she was sentenced.
