Calvert Responds To Red State

Republican Rep. Ken Calvert of California responded to Red State, the conservative blog that hammered GOP leaders in the House for appointing him to the Appropriations Committee.

In a letter to the readers of Red State, Calvert outlines his rebuttal to last year's Los Angeles Times piece that raised questions about his support for an earmark near land he sold for a steep profit.

"In my 14 years of service in the U.S. Congress, I have always held myself to the highest ethical standards and remain committed to upholding the faith placed in me by our Republican Leadership and all my Republican colleagues," Calvert wrote.
