This story was written by Staci D. Kramer.
Not that there's anything wrong with a degree from MIT mind you but Cox Communications President Pat Esser got the first pitch at the opening session of The Cable Show and hit it out of the park: "The average customer doesn't want to have a degree from MIT." We write a lot here about great ideas, new products, set-top box after set-top box, all kinds of delivery optionstrust me, the exhibit space at the Washington Convention Center is stuffed with thembut none of it fills more than a narrow niche if it isn't easy to work. How easy? As easy as turning on a TV.
By the way, Pat, I'm not sure engineers from MIT canor want tomanage some of the setups out there.
