Sheryl Crow Fights To Save Wild Mustangs

Sheryl Crow is urging people to get involved in saving America's wild horses.

The Grammy-winning singer is promoting the preservation of wild mustangs in an upcoming documentary, "Saving the American Wild Horse."

The program airs Monday 9 p.m. EST on the Nashville-based Documentary Channel. Directed by James Kleinert, it is narrated by actor Peter Coyote and also features actor Viggo Mortensen.

Crow, who lives in Tennessee and owns a wild mustang named Colorado, says the animals are part of American history but are being sacrificed in big business' drive for Western lands.

The documentary examines the Bureau of Land Management's policies regarding wild horses on public lands and includes interviews with ranchers, historians, animal rights activists, environmentalists and others.

Heather Locklear's Spirits Lifted

Actress Heather Locklear got a visit from her boyfriend, actor Jack Wagner, while she is undergoing treatment at a facility in Arizona for anxiety and depression, People reported.

The 46-year-old checked herself into the facility on June 19 for an in-depth evaluation, which was suggested by her doctor.

Locklear had been taking medication since her highly publicized divorce with musician Richie Sambora in 2006. They have a 10-year-old daughter Ava.

Tatum O'Neal Pleads Guilty

Tatum O'Neal has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in connection with her June cocaine possession arrest in lower Manhattan.

Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Elisa Koenderman has ordered O'Neal to spend two half-day sessions in a drug treatment program and pay a $95 surcharge.

If O'Neal has met those conditions when she returns to court on Sept. 4, the case will be dismissed.

O'Neal is the youngest person ever to win an Oscar. The daughter of actor Ryan O'Neal won an Academy Award for best supporting actress for 1973's "Paper Moon."

Brinkley Divorce Trial Underway

Christie Brinkley has arrived at a courthouse for the start of her divorce trial from her fourth husband.

Brinkley, a top model in the 1980s, arrived at state Supreme Court in Central Islip shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday.

She opposed a move by a legal guardian for her children that would have closed the proceedings to the public.

Brinkley filed for divorce from architect Peter Cook in 2006 after reports surfaced that he had an affair with 18-year-old Diana Bianchi. Bianchi is expected to be among the first witnesses at the trial.

Rockett's Rape Charges Dropped

Mississippi authorities have dropped a rape charge against Poison drummer Rikki Rockett after determining that he was not in the state at the time of the alleged crime.

The 46-year-old was accused of raping a woman at a central Mississippi casino in September 2007, but was with his fiancée in California at the time.

Casting Call

Val Kilmer has signed on with Shane West, Cam Gigandet, Arielle Kebbel and Eric Balfour for "Silver Cord," a film to be directed by James Ordonez.

The story centers on Ordonez's brother who came back to life after being declared clinically dead on multiple occasions. The brother died in 2004.

The indie feature's aiming at a September start and has obtained a SAG waiver.

Rapper Young Jeezy will play the hip-hop artist at the center of writer-actor-producer Ice Cube's forthcoming comedy "Janky Promoters," about a pair of shady concert promoters in over their heads.

Marcus Raboy ("Friday After Next") is directing the comedy, which is already shooting.

Jeezy, in his first film role, joins Mike Epps and Terry Crews in Ice Cube's first screenplay since "Friday After Next."
