Hefner Shares His Wealth Not Only With The Babes
Playboy founder Hugh Hefner has donated $2 million to the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts.
The money will fund a central exhibition space in the new headquarters of the school and an archival repository for student films and historic documents, the university said.
The existing repository, which bears Hefner's name, holds more than eight decades of student films, including some by George Lucas.

"I've always believed that following one's dreams is very important," Hefner said in a statement from USC.
Hefner has contributed millions of dollars to preserve films and fund cinema schools over the years. At USC, he gave $100,000 in 1992 to create a course, "Censorship in Cinema," and in 1995 he donated $1.5 million to endow the Hugh M. Hefner Chair for the Study of American Film.

David Cassidy's Daughter Due In Court

The daughter of the former "Partridge Family" heartthrob then told police that she was 23-year-old actress Taylor Quinn Cole, who had guest starred on "Supernatural."
Cassidy was a passenger in a truck driven by a 19-year-old male. Police said her speech was slurred and she behaved as though she was under the influence. She told them she was 21, yet gave Cole's actual birth date, April 29, 1984, which would make her 23.
TheSmokingGun.com reports that Cassidy lied because she was worried about bad publicity and confessed to the officer when he told her that her math was wrong.
Cassidy reportedly told police that she lied because "she is a Hollywood actress and that this would not look good for her." When police contacted her mother, she asked "what could be done" since Cassidy is a famous actress. An officer told her that Cassidy would have to appear in court, to which the mother replied that her daughter simply didn't have the time for that.
Nevertheless, the Smoking Gun reports that Cassidy was arraigned this week, and is next due in court Dec. 18.

Renee Zellweger Shuns The Scene
What makes Renee Zellweger most proud in her celebrated acting career is that she's kept her sanity.
"It's weird to have fame precede you in any situation ... and I'm very proud of myself that I've not been to Betty Ford (Center) yet," Zellweger, 38, tells Harper's Bazaar. "Never say never!"
Among her career achievements? "Learning what my boundaries are. That I've been able to stay out of the psychiatric wards despite the really bizarre exchanges I have on a daily basis," she says in the magazine's December issue, on newsstands Nov. 20.
Zellweger prefers privacy to hanging out with the Hollywood crowd -- in public at least. "I'm not a big scene girl," she says. "If I see the scene once a year, that's more than plenty."
The "Bridget Jones" star says an ideal night out could be a "really nice Christmas party."
"I love to go to somebody's house when it gets a little bit later and there's dancing and laughter and nobody's pointing at the weird actor-girl in the corner," says Zellweger, an Oscar winner for 2003's "Cold Mountain."
Zellweger, who filed for an annulment four months after her 2005 wedding to Kenny Chesney, says she's "not sad" about being single. "I'm so busy catching up with the people I miss when I'm working that I'm not busy missing someone."
She's been romantically linked with Jim Carrey, George Clooney -- and Paul McCartney. When asked about McCartney, Zellweger says: "He's as lovely as I expected. We have mutual friends. The crush and I have mutual friends."
Judge To Kid Rock: I'm Fed Up With YouPhotos: Renee Zellweger
A judge is tired of Kid Rock for failing to show up for a court-ordered deposition.
Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Shalina Kumar on Wednesday threw out a lawsuit the singer filed this year against Kelly Ann Kozlowski, a Novi woman he said embarrassed and defamed him in a police report.
"What's special about him? Why does he get to violate a court's order?" Kumar asked Kid Rock's attorney, William Horton, after learning Kid Rock had not shown up for a deposition that she ordered done by the end of October.
Horton said that Rock's absence was a result of scheduling conflicts and that he had proposed alternative November dates.
Kozlowski has sued Kid Rock, claiming he roughed her up outside his Clarkston recording studio March 8. Her claims were investigated by authorities, but no charges were brought.
The judge also entered a default against Kid Rock in Kozlowski's complaint, which seeks more than $25,000 in damages. The ruling means Kid Rock will be unable to contest Kozlowski's lawsuit at a Feb. 5 trail.
