The imposing singer with the comfort-food name has called off Thursday's show at the Chevrolet Centre. Its executive director, Eric Ryan, says the promoters informed him Wednesday night that Meat Loaf has the flu.

Ryan says the show is being postponed until sometime in December and tickets for Thursday's concert will be honored at that time. Meat Loaf's Web site advises fans to "stay tuned" for the make-up date.

His lawyers argued that Clarkson was despondent about her fading career and shot herself.

Instead, William Shatner is complaining he didn't get invited to George Takei's recent wedding to Brad Altman. On his Web site, Shatner lashes out at Takei, accusing him of apparently harboring a grudge that kept Shatner from being invited.

Oprah Winfrey is being sued by a man who accuses her and an attorney of telling lies that led the FBI to arrest him on extortion charges.

Keifer Bonvillain, who had the charges dismissed, wants $180 million in damages. Bonvillain was arrested in December 2006 after he allegedly recorded telephone conversations with an employee of Winfrey's HARPO production company and told a company associate he wanted to publish a book based on the recordings.

The FBI says he said he had offers from publishers and tabloids ranging from $500,000 to $3 million. The FBI arrested Bonvillain when someone else from HARPO agreed to pay him $1.5 million, wired him $3,000 and arranged to meet him. Bonvillain says he did everything he could to avoid doing anything

Broadway Plays Set To Close

A couple of big Broadway plays are getting ready to close in January -- that's one of the weakest times of the year for ticket sales.

It was already announced that "Monty Python's Spamalot" would be one of them. It'll pull up the moat for good on Jan. 18th. That means it will have played more than 1,500 performances.

"Hairspray" will have had an even longer run, more than 2,600 performances, by the time it folds January 4th. Harvey Fierstein is returning for the show's final eight weeks. He'll be back as Edna Turnblad Nov. 11 through Jan 4.
