Brooke Burke's Perfect Night
It was a perfect night for Brooke Burke on "Dancing with the Stars." She got the season's first set of perfect 10s from the judges Monday night. She's been one of the judges' favorites, but had an off week last week. This week's low-scorer is Cody Linley. But he was dancing with a new partner, following Julianne Hough's surgery. This week's results show
will be Wednesdaynight, because of election coverage.
Newlywed George Takei Keeping Eye On
Prop 8
The future of George Takei's marriage to Brad Altman could be at stake this Election Day. Californians are voting on Proposition 8, which would overturn the state Supreme Court ruling allowing gays to marry.
Takei says he understands that his marriage would be grandfathered in even if the proposition passes, but someone still could challenge the marriages
that have taken place and possibly nullify them. Proposition 8 would amend the state constitution to define marriage as being between a man and a woman. Takei says that's "outrageous" considering the state Supreme Court has already decided the issue.
Jane Fonda Returns To B'way In "33 Variations"
Jane Fonda is coming back to Broadway for a new play called "33 Variations." She'll play a present-day musicologist who's studying Beethoven's fascination with a particular piece of music.
Fonda made her Broadway debut in 1960 in a short-lived play called "There Was a Little Girl." She was in a handful of other plays around that time. At least one of them, "Strange Interlude," in 1963, did very well. "33 Variations will open this winter at a theater and date to be determined. It's by the same guy who co-wrote "The Laramie Project."
Girlfriend Breaks Up With Simon Cowell
Simon Cowell has been dumped by his longtime girlfriend. His publicist tells People magazine that Terri Seymour "phoned Simon and finished it in September." He says Seymour wanted kids, but Simon didn't. They were together for six years.
Nelly Says He's Serious About Ashanti
Nelly has used the "s" word when describing his relationship with fellow singer Ashanti. Nelly and Ashanti haven't said much about their relationship, which reportedly has been going on for years. But when asked if he and Ashanti are serious, Nelly told People magazine "it's always serious when you can hang with a person continuously and have fun." Nelly celebrated his 34th birthday over the weekend in Las Vegas.
Not-Guilty Plea In Celebrity Medical Snooping Case
A woman who used to work at the UCLA Medical Center has pleaded not guilty to charges that she sold information from Farrah Fawcett's medical records. Lawanda Jackson entered her plea at her arraignment in federal court. Jackson is charged with illegally accessing Fawcett's medical file and selling information about her cancer treatment to the National Enquirer for $4,600.
