Britney's Album Release Date Moved Up
Britney Spears fans will be happy to hear that the embattled pop star's album will hit stores two weeks earlier than expected.
According to her record label, Jive, the new album questionably titled "The Blackout" will be released Oct. 30. A spokesman said in a statement that the early release is to prevent further leaking of unfinished material and demos on the Internet on sites like Perezhilton.com and TMZ.com.
"Due to these numerous unauthorized on-line leaks, the label is doing everything possible to prevent and avoid any further illegal distribution of songs including moving up the release date of the album to Oct. 30," the label said in a statement given to TheShowBuzz.com.Timeline: Britney's Meltdown
Already, Spears has been enjoying immense success on the charts and on iTunes with the first single off "The Blackout," "Gimme More." It is the same song the singer lackadaisically performed at the MTV Video Music Awards.Photos: Britney And K-Fed
Although her family troubles persist and Spears continues to wrestle with ex-husband Kevin Federline over the custody of their two sons, the singer seems to have proven that even at her lowest points, she still sells.
