"Breaking Bad" ends season with a "Face Off"
(CBS) For the past few seasons, Water White of "Breaking Bad" has straddled the line between good and evil. The high school chemistry teacher that took to making meth to support his family after he was diagnosed with cancer always had a valid, worthy reason to justify his illicit deeds.
But, after last night's season finale, he's finally tipped over to the dark side.

Without trying to spoil the show for those of you who have yet to see the Oct. 9 episode, which was titled "Face Off," just know that the season-long tension between Gustavo Fring and White finally came to its ultimate end. Just like last season's cliffhanger-that-wasn't-really-a-cliffanger, you'll know who emerges victorious in the war of brains and egos -- although whether or not you'll like the deep-"seeded" secrets it reveals about the main character is still up for question.
If everything seemed too neatly wrapped up for your liking, it's because creator Vince Carter proceed with the season four finale as if it were the end of the show. In a Q&A with the New York Times, Carter said, "We weren't sure that we would have a fifth season when we were plotting out the end of Season 4. So we wanted to make the end of Season 4 as satisfying and as complete as possible, not knowing what the future would hold." Luckily for us "Breaking Bad" fans, AMC has granted the series 16 more episodes.
