Boots: Not Just For Chill Of It
Boots will be bigger than ever this season.
W magazine fashion director Bridget Foley describes for CBS News This Morning the best bootwear for the fall.
"Boots are always about function," says Foley.
"But more than ever before, they are about fashion."
Books are one of the 10 must-have items for fall. Whether you're dressing for the day or evening, boots can accessorize any outfit. The season's styles range in materials - from leather, velvet, felt, pony and stretch fabrics - and in design - from mid-calf to knee-high lengths, and from flat-heeled to stiletto heeled.
While the fall boot offerings include the basics and the very fanciful, this year is different in its sense of excitement. Boots are screaming, "Notice me,'" says Foley.
There's a new raciness, away from ethereal, bohemian, gentle styles toward a 1970s jet-set feel, she says. Such styles are sexy, yet approachable, notes Foley.
