Blue Jeans Joy: Finding a Pair That Fits

Women of every size and shape can find an affordable pair of jeans, as "The Early Show" kicks off the series "Early's Fall Fashion Extravaganza."

On Monday, Elizabeth Blake, senior style editor of All You magazine, shared a variety of jeans with special features that fit women of every body type.

Real woman #1: Jennie
Jennie's challenge: Large Hips

* Jennie found that if jeans fit her hips they were too big in the waist.
Solution: Many companies - like Lee, Lane Bryant and Gap - offer jeans in a variety of cuts that address specific body types. This pair was designed for curvy women like Jennie.

What to look for:
- Legs that hang straight from the hip tend to be more flattering than a boot cut.
- Plain finishes are best. Avoid fading effects that emphasize specific parts of the body.

On Jennie:
* Top: Old Navy, $24.50,
* Jeans: Lane Bryant, $50;
* Belt: Lane Bryant, $29.50;
* Bag: One Stop Plus, $49.99;
* Shoes: DSW, $90;
* Jewelry: H&M, $9.90;

Real woman #2: Ashley
Ashley's Challenge: No-Butt

* Ashley was on a quest for jeans that looked as good from the back as they did from the front.
Solution: This pair has built-in padding to give her rear a natural-looking roundness.

What to look for:
- Try padding, either built in or in a separate shaper.
- Skip flat pockets. Slit pockets show off the natural curve of the behind, and pockets with a flap add a little extra volume.

On Ashley:
* Top: Victoria's Secret, $38;
* Jeans: Victoria's Secret, $59.50;
* Belt: BFG NYC, $26; # 212.626.7400 for information
* Shoes: DSW, $55;
* Necklace: K. Amato, $68;

Real Woman #3-Bria
Bria's challenge: Midsection woes

* Bria's midsection is larger, and she wants her jeans to de-emphasize it.
Solution: This midrise style by Gap looks great on her figure

What to Look for:
-Seek out brands geared toward women, not juniors. They tend to cut higher in the waist, and enhance adult bodies better.
For those concerned about their midsection should look for:
- A wider waistband helps hold in your stomach
- If you currently own a problem pair, try wearing them with a loose fitting tunic to still get use out of them.

On Bria:
* Top: Torrid, $44
* Jeans: Gap Long & Lean, $59.50
* Belt: BFG NYC, $24; #212.626.7400 for information
* Bracelet: LOFT, $34.50

Real woman #4: Kate
Kate's challenge: Apple-shaped

* Kate's tummy is larger in proportion to her hips and rear, making it difficult for her to find a perfect fit.
Solution: A slimming panel in the front of these jeans help hold in Kate's belly.

What to look for:
- A midrise cut; avoid styles that hit directly before the tummy.
- Denim with some stretch will keep you in and can help accommodate proportion problems in your figure.
- Slightly boot-cut legs draw the eye from the stomach.

On Kate:
* Top: LOFT, $24.50
* Jeans: Slender Secret, $44
* Belt: Torrid, $22 (for two)
* Shoes: Payless, $29.99
* Bag: Lane Bryant, $49.50
* Cuff: K. Amato, $48
* Earrings: H&M, $5.90; www.hm.com

Real woman #5: Renee
Renee's challenge: Plus-Size Curves

* Renee wanted to accentuate her shape while slenderizing her overall frame.
Solution: The secret to this pair's great fit? A bit of stretch. These jeans hug Renee nicely, and the wide waistband gives her a great hourglass figure.

What to look for:
- Wide-leg jeans are roomy enough to accommodate larger thighs, but make sure they aren't so wide that they add excess volume.
- Dark finishes are more slimming than light.
- Vertical details, like the white stitching and center seam, elongate legs and help them look slimmer.

On Renee:
* Top: Lane Bryant, $29.50
* Jeans: Z. Cavaricci, $58; at Torrid
* Shoes: Payless, $22.99
* Earrings: K. Amato, $38
