Best Gifts: Walmart, Target, Costco and Apple

Procrastinators unite! According to a Consumer Reports poll, just 15 percent of shoppers finish buying holiday gifts by early December. Over a quarter expect to continue shopping until December 23 or later, including 10 percent who expect to finish on Christmas Eve, and 5 percent who don't expect to finish until after the holidays.

For those who waited until this week to get going, I culled our various articles (see below) highlighting the list of things to buy and not to buy at the nation's leading retailers, including Walmart, Target, Costco and the Apple Store. I discussed the best of the biggies with WCBS-TV this morning.

And if you can't get all of your shopping done, there's always re-gifting! According to a Farleigh Dickinson University poll, 72 percent of New Jersey residents polled re-gift at least once during the holidays. The numbers are likely to be similar across the country, though it seems a little low to me!
