BBDO Disavows "Nazi" Ad for Playstation 3

"Shocking" fake ads created created solely to fool judging panels in award shows seem to be the hotbutton issue of the year. Now Endgadget reports that this ad for Sony's Playstation 3, which shows a gamer giving blood to a Nazi while fetish-y nurses look on, was created by BBDO Chile without Sony's permission purely for the purposes of being entered into an ad awards contest.

(Click to enlarge.) BBDO gave this statement:

This creative design did not involve and was never approved by Sony Computer Entertainment or Sony. This "mock campaign" was developed by BBDO Chile staff and was submitted to various creative competitions/festivals without prior notification or approval from SCE/Sony, and it is not representative of the views or advertising policies of SCE/Sony. BBDO Chile apologizes for using this creative concept without authorization or prior approval, and for its misrepresentation of the PlayStation brand and its values.
The denial brings to mind both the Sept. 11 ad that DDB mocked up for the Discovery Channel and foreign agencies' fascination with using Adolf Hitler as a product endorser in their ads.
